Past Work

Managing USAID’s Global Industry Coordination Network

The Global Industry Coordination Network is composed of Global Relationship Managers (RMs) and Industry Leads (ILs) covering 30 of the Agency’s most complex corporate relationships and 36 high priority industries and sub-sectors. I served as the central point of contact for RMs and provided them with regular coaching and support to foster their internal relationship building, knowledge transfer, and problem solving.

Highlights from this work include:

  • leading the creation of a ‘Playbook’ to serve as comprehensive guidance outlining RM and IL functions, best practices, and a step-by-step process for creating and implementing a partner engagement strategy;

  • using regular direct engagement and surveys to evaluate and prioritize opportunities and demands for enhanced support

  • organizing a two day convening of 33 RMs and ILs to deepen their understanding of the roles and build internal connections.

Creating One USAID - USAID’s Relationship Management Doctrine

The idea behind One USAID was the subject of the very first email I received when I joined the PSE Hub. Over the next several months, and with significant inputs and feedback from PSE practitioners around the world, I codified a set of principles that capture how USAID staff should conduct themselves when working with the private sector. I have delivered countless presentations on One USAID, developed an online training to familiarize staff, and worked to incorporate One USAID as a foundational element across the PSE Hub’s work.

Relationship Management Training with USAID/Jordan

Led the delivery of a pilot, three-day relationship management training to over 20 staff from USAID/Jordan and USAID/Syria. The course involved a variety of hands-on activities, case studies, and group work focused on the practical application of the content. The material was well received, and the experience generated a number of lessons learned to refine the training for the future.

Supporting the development and launch of Compass, USAID’s new partner relationship management system.

Based on my work with the Industry Network and experience with USAID/Armenia, I regularly provided input on how best to align Compass to USAID’s operations and best practices. My feedback has informed the design of virtually every core feature, and I helped produce and deliver some of the earliest trainings on the system. This included in-person TDY support to onboard and train the first pilot mission, El Salvador.
