Areas of Expertise

Private Sector Engagement

I am deeply familiar with USAID’s Private Sector Engagement Policy, the Agency’s key tools and resources for conducting PSE, and leading PSE practitioners around the world. I have experience putting the PSE Policy into practice - directly engaging companies to address development challenges together. From collaborating on bringing specific projects to life, to broadly engaging companies to inform strategy and program design, PSE was a key aspect of much of my work with USAID/Armenia. More recently in the PSE Hub, I played a lead role in advancing key operational and cultural changes to make it easier for staff to engage the private sector, and to offer a better experience to the Agency’s partners.

Relationship Management

I am a firm believer and advocate that good relationship management is at the heart of good private sector engagement, and at the heart of good development more broadly. I was the architect behind the creation of USAID’s relationship management doctrine ‘One USAID.’ Working with leading PSE practitioners from across the Agency, I codified the key principles that explain for the first time how USAID staff should interact with the private sector. Through this work I have built relationships with USAID staff across headquarters and across the globe.

Economic Development

I have a passion for creating economic opportunity, and believe in an “all of the above” approach to achieving it. During my time in USAID/Armenia’s Economic Growth Office, I worked on a robust slate of programs addressing sector competitiveness, economic governance, and natural resource management. Through my role as alternate AOR on one of our agriculture activities, I met entrepreneurs across the country, who were leveling up their business with our support. The capstone of my time in Armenia was designing a flagship economic growth activity that would move the programming beyond the firm-level, to driver greater sector cohesion and collaboration.
